INTRODUCTIONPenasul UK Limited is committed to the highest standards of ethical conduct and integrity in its business activities. We recognise our responsibility to combat modern slavery and human trafficking and are dedicated to ensuring that our operations and supply chains are free from such practices. This statement outlines the steps we have taken during the financial year 2025, and continue to take, to prevent modern slavery within our business and supply chains.
Due to the global nature of our business, we acknowledge the complexity of international supply chains and the potential risks associated with them. We understand that the agricultural and food production sectors can be vulnerable to modern slavery and human trafficking due to factors such as seasonal labour, subcontracting and geographical remoteness. To mitigate these risks, we maintain close, longstanding partnerships with key suppliers, promoting integrity and transparency in our products and services. The vast majority of our goods are sourced within the group of our ultimate parent company, JBS N.V., which enhances the knowledge and trust we have in our supply chains.
We continue to promote all aspects of our employees’ wellbeing, including health and safety, diversity and inclusion, mental health support, financial wellbeing, recruitment and retention, and leadership development. We maintain a zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery and are committed to behaving responsibly and respectfully, taking appropriate steps to protect human rights in our own operations and across our supply chain.
OUR BUSINESS
Penasul UK Limited is an importer and distributor of poultry products, established in Uxbridge, United Kingdom. We procure the vast majority of our products from our parent company, Seara Alimentos Ltda (a wholly owned subsidiary of JBS N.V.) in Brazil. We operate predominantly as a sales office, with a team focused on delivering sales and customer service activities, while logistics and transportation services are outsourced to third-party providers.
We are wholly owned by our ultimate parent company, JBS N.V., headquartered in Amstelveen, Netherlands, which employs approximately 280,000 colleagues globally.
OUR COMMITMENT
We remain unequivocally committed to preventing slavery and human trafficking in our operations and supply chains. Our approach continues to be guided by the principles of transparency, fairness and accountability.
During 2025, there were no reported incidents or identified cases of modern slavery within our operations or direct supply chain.
SUPPLY CHAIN DUE DILIGENCE
Our primary supplier is Seara Alimentos in Brazil, with whom we maintain a long-standing and trusted relationship. Our parent company adheres to established ethical standards, including compliance with applicable local and international laws regarding labour practices and human rights.
We continue to apply the following measures to mitigate the risk of modern slavery within our supply chain:
Given the nature of our business model as a sales and distribution entity without manufacturing operations, our exposure to modern slavery risk is considered lower and primarily indirect, arising through upstream supply chains rather than direct operations.
EMPLOYEE AWARENESS AND TRAINING
Our employees play an important role in maintaining our ethical standards. During 2025 we continued to support them through:
CONCLUSION
Penasul UK Limited maintains a zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery and human trafficking.
